Review: Wrecked By You
Wrecked By You by Kate Sweden is a forced proximity, grumpy sunshine romance, Between Ryann Wilder who is in charge of keeping a million-dollar wedding on track and Max Harrington who is in charge of security.
This is the 1st book in the Wilder Horizons series all, though there is a prequel which tells the story from the perspective of the bride although you do not need to read that to enjoy this.
Perspective
While the novel is mostly told through the perspective of the female love interest Ryann.
There are times when Max is the point of view of the story especially at key points of the romance, this works particularly well, as you get each person’s perspective at key points without expanding the size of the novel too much.
Setting
Wrecked By you, is a novel that the setting of A Scottish castle, Wedding, which if done badly can really damage the background for the novel, by over, use of the location making it too sweet.
The other issue what happens in some novels is when the location has no effect on the story whatsoever, almost as if the location was added once the novel was written to catch the latest trends in publishing.
However, while Kate Sweeden never forgot the location of the novel being Scotland and there were times that times that the wedding could have been located anywhere. Wrecked By You’s location added to the romance rather than distracted from it.
Pacing
While Wrecked By you, at the start is a well-paced novel, in addition to the tension and the growth of the relationship by Kate Sweden was done.
However, there was an issue with the Wrecked By You’s pacing, which was the lead up to the third act break up as the pacing of the novel seemed to slow down. while it did make sense from the perspective of the writer showing how stable the romance at that time, it did seem to expand the novel by 20-30 pages that could have been left out of the romance.
In addition, while the third act break up seemed appropriate for both Max and Ryann and the solution worked. It did seem a little dated.
Who should Read? Wrecked By You
Wrecked By You, is the perfect romance for readers who love a romantic comedy which the slow burn of the romance to build the tension between the couple beyond more than a couple of encounters.
Conclusion
The writing and the chemistry between both Max and Ryann and the way the writer Kate Sweden Made Wrecked BY You a perfect romance.
