Synopsis: Everyone Is Lying
Alexandra appears to have built a stable life, with a successful business, a supportive husband, and two children.
However, she has spent the past twenty years trying to leave behind a traumatic event from her past.
One morning, she discovers a carefully folded origami bird on her kitchen table. The message unsettles her because only four people knew her childhood nickname, “Birdie,” and one of them is dead.
The discovery forces Alexandra to revisit the events of a night two decades earlier, when three young women died at an exclusive party. She left that night carrying information that could implicate several influential men.
As more signs emerge that someone knows what happened, Alexandra must decide whether to continue protecting the past or confront the truth before it threatens the life she has built.

Review: Everyone Is Lying
Everyone Is Lying by D.E. White – Book Review
Psychological thrillers often rely on hidden secrets, unreliable appearances and past mistakes returning to haunt the present.
Everyone Is Lying by D.E. White embraces these familiar elements to deliver a fast-paced mystery that is easy to read and difficult to put down.
The story follows Alexandra, a successful beauty business owner who appears to have built the perfect life. She has a loving husband, two children and a comfortable suburban existence.
However, beneath the surface lie secrets she has spent years trying to leave behind. When she is selected for jury service and discovers an origami bird mysteriously left on her kitchen table, the cracks in her carefully constructed life begin to widen.
As the narrative unfolds, Alexandra finds herself confronted by people and events from her past, culminating in a murder trial that threatens to expose everything she has worked to hide.
The tension comes not from whether Alexandra has secrets, but from discovering exactly what those secrets are and how far they will reach into her present-day life.
Quick Read
At just 256 pages, Everyone Is Lying is a brisk read. D.E. White keeps the plot moving at a steady pace, ensuring there is always another revelation, clue or twist waiting around the corner. This makes the novel particularly appealing to readers looking for a thriller that can be completed in just a few sittings.
The book does, however, follow many of the conventions that have become staples of the psychological thriller genre. The hidden past, the seemingly perfect family, the shocking revelations and the murder investigation all feel familiar. While there is nothing wrong with using proven storytelling techniques, the novel rarely pushes beyond them. As a result, Everyone Is Lying feels more like a solid example of the genre rather than a book that reinvents it.

Conclusion
Everyone Is Lying is a competent and engaging psychological thriller that delivers exactly what many readers expect from the genre. While it may not offer enough originality to stand out in a crowded field, its short length, steady pacing and intriguing mystery make it an enjoyable reading experience. Readers looking for a gripping distraction rather than a groundbreaking thriller will find plenty to enjoy here, making it an ideal choice for a holiday read, a long journey or simply an evening escape from everyday life.
